In the Atyrau region, a pregnant woman has accused her husband of beating her, saying she fled home after the attack and was hospitalized, according to infohub.kz.
Akbobek Orazbayeva, 32, told a TV channel that her husband brutally beat her in front of their children. She now demands that he be punished.
“I was lying down when he came and hit me with his fist. I think he hit me twice. My head and ears were ringing. I said, ‘Allah, Allah,’ grabbed a sheet, and at that moment my youngest daughter woke up. It turns out both my children were not asleep. They were lying there pretending to sleep because they were scared. I realized he would not spare me,” the woman recounted.
Orazbayeva is currently in the Inder District Hospital. She says her husband had been physically abusive before, but she forgave him. The couple has three children together. This time, she says, she feared for the life of her unborn baby.
It is reported that the woman filed a complaint with the police, but the alleged attacker was released almost immediately. Only after she made a loud scene did the authorities re-arrest him. Law enforcement has not commented on the incident, saying they are investigating.
Meanwhile, doctors have advised the woman to rest. “On admission, she had most injuries to the head and jaw, and bruises on the left leg. She also complained of abdominal pain. She is now receiving treatment in the surgical department. Her condition is stable,” said Aslanbek Yermukhanov, a surgeon at the Inder District Hospital.
