Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš said U.S. President Donald Trump "set Europe up" by striking a diesel fuel deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He made the remark during a European Union summit in Brussels, according to infohub.kz.
"The fact is that Europe is not trying to be active in any way. I think we all want peace. I'm not saying that peace means accepting some Russian ideas, but the fact is that the war continues, that Europe is standing aside from what is happening, and Trump, by making this deal with Putin, essentially set us up, and we have to do something," RBC quoted him as saying.
Recall that last week Trump announced an agreement with Putin on supplies of Russian diesel fuel. He said that thanks to this, as well as control of the Strait of Hormuz, fuel prices would fall in the U.S. and around the world.
