According to Olympic.kz, the President's Cup international tennis tournament series, combining ATP Challenger Tour and World Tennis Tour events, will take place from July 27 to August 16 on the outdoor hard courts of the National Tennis Center in Astana, reported infohub.kz.
From July 27 to August 9, World Tennis Tour tournaments of categories W15 (women's) and M15 (men's) will be held. The following day, August 10, the ATP Challenger 50 and another World Tennis Tour W15 event will start.
Kazakhstan will be represented this year by Amir Omarkhanov, Zangar Nurlanuly, Damir Zhalgasbai, Aruzhan Sagandykova, Asylzhan Arystanbekova, Inkar Dyusebay, Sandugash Kenzhibayeva, and Albina Kakenova.
The President's Cup has been held in Kazakhstan since 1991, and the tournaments gained international status in 2007.
Past winners include Kazakhstan's Mikhail Kukushkin and Andrey Golubev, Ukraine's Illya Marchenko, Austria's Sebastian Ofner, current German team captain Rainer Schüttler, Croatia's Ivan Dodig (Australian Open and Roland Garros doubles champion), and China's Zhang Shuai (two-time Grand Slam doubles champion), among others.
