Prince Harry ran into an unexpected technical glitch during an appearance in New York at the annual Clinton Global Initiative event, infohub.kz reports.
The Duke of Sussex was delivering an emotional speech about the dangers of artificial intelligence and children's safety online. About seven minutes into his remarks, the teleprompter suddenly went dark.
The prince got out another line about the lack of time, paused, asked in confusion, "Is that it?", then set down the microphone and was forced to briefly leave the stage.
It took organizers about 40 minutes to fix the problem. When Prince Harry returned to the stage to finish his speech, he greeted the audience with humor and irony. He joked that artificial intelligence itself had meddled with his text and tried to derail the speech, so he had been asked to come back out and finish.
After the joke, the duke went on to draw attention to online safety issues. He stressed that algorithms seek to build a deep emotional bond with children, and called on society to act immediately to protect the younger generation from the harmful effects of digital technology.
