More than 250 million tenge has been added to the budget of Atyrau region after a prosecutor's investigation revealed widespread underreporting of the property tax base. Dishonest taxpayers provided false information about the size of their properties in declarations to reduce their tax burden, according to infohub.kz.
Specifically, LLP "M" paid 9.2 million tenge in property tax for 2025 based on an area of 14,700 square meters. However, the inspection found the actual area to be 28,827.3 square meters. The underpayment for this taxpayer exceeded 8.5 million tenge.
Similar violations were found for another 63 properties. Thanks to the prosecutor's intervention, over 250 million tenge was collected into the budget.
