French football club Paris Saint-Germain defeated England's Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup match for the 2026/27 season, reports infohub.kz.

The meeting between the reigning Champions League and Europa League winners took place at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg, Austria. The Parisians won 2:1.

The first goal was scored by Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. In the 20th minute, he fired a precise shot after a pass from French forward Désiré Doué.

Before the break, Aston Villa equalized. After a pass from Scottish midfielder on the 45th minute, English striker Brian Magee scored. The 17-year-old became the youngest goalscorer in a European club final.

The final score was set by Doué. He scored the winning goal in the 61st minute after a pass from French forward Ousmane Dembélé.

PSG won the UEFA Super Cup for the second time. The team took the title last year.

Aston Villa, meanwhile, lost in the UEFA Super Cup for the first time. In 1982, the Birmingham club managed to win this tournament.
