Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to a call to act "bolder" in the conflict with Ukraine during a meeting at the Kremlin with deputies, reports infohub.kz.
The Russian leader met with deputies of the outgoing eighth convocation of the State Duma. According to Putin, during an awards ceremony one of the recipients whispered to him: "We will win. But we need to be bolder. Very much so."
Putin replied: "But the question arises: 'Even bolder?' And here, as in the economy, there are risks, the price of which is losses on the battlefield from our side. So here we will act carefully, but persistently and consistently achieving the goals set for the country."
About two weeks ago, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Putin is allegedly ready to strike a peace deal with Ukraine. Also, the White House said that on July 28, Trump will meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss a settlement of the conflict between Kyiv and Moscow.
Recently, Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev, during a meeting with Putin, suggested freezing the conflict and returning to the Istanbul formula 2.0, noting that significant progress had been achieved there.
