At the annual LGBTQ rights parade in the Dutch capital, an unusual installation appeared: Russian President Vladimir Putin and White House chief Donald Trump were depicted as a kissing couple, reports infohub.kz.
According to Deutsche Welle, the organizers of the Amsterdam Pride created a composition titled "The Kissing Couple," based on a well-known Dutch souvenir with figurines of lovers. The authors replaced the traditional lovers with figures of the Russian and American leaders.
Video and photos of the installation quickly spread on social media, causing a wide public resonance. The footage shows Putin and Trump figurines in a moment of a kiss, which attracted the attention of all parade participants.
The Pride organizers explained their idea: "Not for provocation, but to momentarily pause power and show something human. Unity is often sought through power, the desire to prove one's rightness, or emphasizing differences. We believe that true rapprochement begins not in systems or political blocs, but with people. With ourselves. It requires daily efforts from each of us - in arguments, within the family, at work, and among friends."
