Karaganda Zoo is experiencing a baby boom this summer, with several animals, including rare species, giving birth over the past few months. Kursiv LifeStyle reports on the new arrivals, as cited by infohub.kz.
According to the zoo, offspring have been born to alpacas, European fallow deer, blue sheep, and a markhor goat—a rare animal listed in the Red Book.
Staff note that each birth is not just an addition to the collection, but the result of daily work by specialists, care for the animals, and creating comfortable conditions for their keeping.
The babies are now taking their first steps, exploring the world around them, staying close to their mothers, and curiously watching visitors. According to zoo workers, each has its own personality: some boldly explore their enclosures, while others prefer not to stray far from their parents.
The zoo invites residents and guests of Karaganda to meet the new inhabitants. They can be visited daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a Karaganda resident, a member of Kazakhstan's national hunting team with birds of prey, had organized an illegal nursery with Red Book birds at his home. The seized predators were temporarily placed in the Karaganda Zoo.
