Real Madrid continued their impressive start to the new La Liga season, defeating newly promoted Malaga 4-0 at home. Three goals came in the first 30 minutes, with a late fourth added at the end. This was reported by infohub.kz.
Jude Bellingham's brilliant solo effort, an own goal by goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero, and a precise strike from Kylian Mbappe decided the match in the first half. Substitute Arda Guler put the finishing touch in added time.
The win gave Real Madrid nine points from three matches, two ahead of Atletico Madrid and Alaves. Barcelona, in fourth place with six points and a game in hand, face Rayo Vallecano on Monday.
After using the same starting lineup in the first two rounds against Espanyol and Real Sociedad, coach Jose Mourinho made five changes, handing Marc Cucurella his first start for the club.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, who started ahead of Denzel Dumfries, came close to scoring in the opening minute, curling a shot with the outside of his right foot just wide of the far post.
Malaga responded in the 15th minute when Joaquin Munoz fired a right-footed strike from outside the box, but the ball flew just over Thibaut Courtois's top corner. However, the visitors' resistance soon crumbled.
In the 19th minute, Bellingham made a superb run through the middle, collected a loose ball near the edge of the area, dribbled past three defenders, and scored with a low shot under Herrero.
Seven minutes later, Real doubled their lead: after Mbappe's shot was parried by Herrero, Bellingham headed the rebound towards goal, and as Herrero and a teammate collided trying to clear, the ball ended up in the net.
In the 30th minute, Mbappe met Alexander-Arnold's cross with a fine volley from the centre of the box to make it 3-0.
Real eased off in the second half, but Bellingham hit the post from inside the area in the 55th minute.
The second half was quiet until Guler, shortly after coming on, started and finished a slick move: he fed Vinicius Junior and then tapped in the Brazilian's return pass to complete the rout.
Real Madrid's next match is on Friday away to Real Betis in Seville, followed a few days later by their Champions League group stage opener at home against Inter Milan.
