Kazakhstan has reported on the allocation of assets recovered by the state: over 617 billion tenge have been channeled into more than 500 projects spanning water supply, healthcare, education, transport, and sports infrastructure, according to infohub.kz.
A significant portion of the funds went to water supply and medical development. 226.5 billion tenge was allocated for 267 water supply projects. In the Akmola region, 32 projects were implemented, 28 in North Kazakhstan, and 15 in the Abai region. In Almaty, water supply and sewage networks were built in several neighborhoods.
For healthcare, 191 projects worth 176.8 billion tenge were approved. In the regions, a hospital in Ridder, an ambulance station in Aktau, and 145 primary care facilities have already been built. In Balkhash, a surgical and angiographic wing was constructed for over 1 billion tenge. Previously, patients with acute heart attacks had to be transported to Karaganda, 400 kilometers away. "Today, a patient arriving by ambulance goes straight to a specialized unit, and within half an hour to an hour we can perform the necessary intervention," said hospital director Serikbol Tussupbekov.
In the transport sector, 43 billion tenge was allocated for eight projects. In Balkhash, the airport was reconstructed for 946 million tenge, and since June 1, flights to Astana and Almaty have been operating from there. In Arkalyk, airport reconstruction is nearing completion. For educational projects, 64.4 billion tenge will be allocated: schools, kindergartens, and dormitories are opening in the regions. At the Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute, a building of 6,600 square meters was renovated.
Another 67.5 billion tenge is earmarked for sports infrastructure. In Kokshetau and Zerenda, new sports facilities have already been opened, and in Astana, the stadium named after K. Munaitpasov was renovated. Additionally, recovered assets are being used for the construction of roads, heating networks, gas pipelines, and power grids for populated areas and new industries.
In total, over 1.1 trillion tenge have been returned to Kazakhstan. The funds are channeled through the Special State Fund to projects related to regional development and the quality of life of the population, the government noted.
