First footage has emerged from a FlyDubai plane flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv that sent a hijack distress signal, infohub.kz reports.

The Telegram channel SHOT published the first photo from the plane. The image shows a passenger who is believed to have fought off an attacker. He is covered in blood.

"According to one of those on board, a crew member stabbed the pilot with a knife and disabled some of the aircraft's systems. Then a passenger named Yaniv and another man burst into the cockpit and subdued the attacker. The same passenger claims that by sheer luck there were two more pilots on board. It was they who, after the incident, managed to land the Boeing in Saudi Arabia. According to another version, passengers may have been fighting," the report says.

A report by Israeli TV channel i24, translated by RBC, says that during the investigation authorities are checking the version that one of the pilots may have deliberately tried to crash the plane. It is believed that his actions were stopped by the second pilot and Israeli passengers, who struggled with him and prevented a catastrophe.

The channel notes that this version could explain data from Flightradar, which recorded a sharp descent of the aircraft by 14,000 feet (about 4.2 km) in one minute.

In addition, the Telegram channel Mash published the first video from the plane. It shows a view from the window, and screams can be heard. Meanwhile, Bild reports that the first pilot (a Russian) tried to commit suicide with a knife. The second pilot (a Ukrainian) prevented this and thereby averted a crash. This version has not yet been confirmed.

Earlier, media reported that a Boeing 737 passenger plane sent a distress signal while turning over Saudi Arabia. It transmitted code 7500, indicating hijacking or unlawful interference.

Israeli Air Force fighter jets were scrambled toward the plane. It later became known that the aircraft landed in Saudi Arabia.

Flydubai then told Israeli television that a fight broke out between pilots on board the Dubai-Tel Aviv flight. Local media claim the crew consisted of two pilots — one from Russia, the other from Ukraine.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the emergency on the FlyDubai plane that sent a distress signal.
