On the northern shore of the Kapshagai Reservoir in Konayev, emergency services rescued a 23-year-old man who was injured while riding an inflatable towable 'banana' and could not get out of the water. He was quickly brought to shore and handed over to an ambulance team, reports infohub.kz.
According to the 112 emergency service, the incident occurred on the northern shore of the Kapshagai Reservoir in Konayev, Almaty region. During a patrol, officers from the operational rescue unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations noticed that a holidaymaker needed help.
"It turned out that the 23-year-old man was riding an inflatable water attraction known as a 'banana'. While moving, he fell into the water and dislocated his shoulder. Due to the injury, he could not swim back to shore and required assistance," the Kazakh rescue service said.
The MES officers promptly pulled the man from the water, brought him to shore, and handed him over to the arriving ambulance crew for further examination and necessary medical care.
The agency reminded that during recreation on water bodies, it is essential to strictly follow safety rules, use serviceable equipment, and carefully adhere to the instructions of water ride operators. The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges citizens to take their own safety seriously, as even a minor accident while on water can lead to serious consequences and require emergency response.
