Two teenagers who went hiking in the mountains near Almaty failed to check in at the appointed time. Rescuers found them in the Ayusai Gorge and handed them over to their parents, reports infohub.kz.

The incident occurred in the Bostandyk district of Almaty, near the Big Almaty Peak, at an altitude of about 3,680 meters above sea level. The report of their disappearance was received by rescuers after the teenagers did not return home by the agreed time.

As it turned out, the young people had set off for the mountains the previous night, planning to return the same day. However, they did not appear at the appointed time, there was no communication with them, and their geolocation data could not be obtained.

The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted: "Rescuers from the Monitoring and Operational Response Center immediately began search and rescue operations. During the search, the teenagers were found in the Ayusai Gorge."

Specialists brought them out of the mountainous area and handed them over to their parents. No medical assistance was required.

The ministry reminded: "Before going to the mountains, study the route in advance, take into account weather conditions and the difficulty of the terrain. Inform relatives of your route and return time, keep your phone charged, and do not go to the mountains alone. In case of an emergency, call 112."
