Singer Rihanna may be returning to the stage after a decade-long hiatus. This was stated by her partner A$AP Rocky, reports infohub.kz.
Speaking on The Jason Lee podcast on Wednesday, the rapper said: "She's in the studio right now." Few details about the project were revealed, but a joint double album was ruled out. However, when asked about a new album, he added: "She's cooking."
The singer and businesswoman from Barbados, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, has not released a full album since 2016's Anti. Podcast host Jason Lee asked the rapper: "Are you the reason we don't have an album?" recalling their three children and Rihanna's travels. The rapper denied this, saying the singer is indeed working on new music.
"Yeah, I said it, sorry babe," he continued, adding that he would "get in trouble for this." Little other information about the new music was revealed in the interview.
In February last year, Rihanna said she felt "really optimistic" about a new album. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, she said: "I feel like I've finally cracked it, girl!" She also added: "I cannot put up anything mediocre. After waiting eight years, you might as well just wait some more."
Since her last album, Rihanna has released singles, including "Lift Me Up" for the 2022 film "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever." She has also launched several businesses, including the Fenty Beauty cosmetics brand and a lingerie company. According to Forbes, the 38-year-old singer's net worth exceeds one billion dollars.
During the interview, A$AP Rocky (real name Rakim Mayers) declined to comment on whether he and Rihanna had married.
