Mitte gained widespread fame for playing the son of the main character in 'Breaking Bad.' The series, created by Vince Gilligan, aired from 2008 to 2013. His character was a teenager with cerebral palsy who lived with his parents, Walter and Skyler White.

According to the actor's biography on the AMC website, Mitte himself also had cerebral palsy, though in a milder form than his character. Early in his career, he appeared as an extra in the series 'Hannah Montana' and 'Everybody Hates Chris,' and auditioning for 'Breaking Bad' became his professional breakthrough.

In addition to acting, Mitte was involved in public initiatives focused on equal opportunities and support for people with disabilities. He advocated for greater representation of actors with disabilities in film and television.
