In the Akmola region, a road accident resulted in 23 tons of onions scattered across the roadway. The incident occurred at a railway crossing on the Zhaksy — Esil — Buzuluk highway, where a Volvo truck and a locomotive collided, reports infohub.kz.
According to preliminary data, the truck driver ignored a red light and drove onto the crossing, colliding with the locomotive. Fortunately, no one was injured. However, the cargo — about 23 tons of onions — spilled onto the road, creating a serious obstacle for traffic.
Police officers promptly arrived at the scene, organized traffic control, and ensured the safety of road users. They remained on site until the consequences of the accident were fully eliminated, helping to clear the spilled onions from the roadway. After the necessary work, traffic on this section was fully restored.
An investigation has been conducted into the accident, and the truck driver has been brought to administrative responsibility for violating traffic rules.
