In Almaty, works performed by the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Orchestra of Folk Instruments were played under the baton of a robot conductor. This was reported by the website infohub.kz, citing the Ministry of Culture and Information.
According to the ministry's Telegram channel, artificial intelligence and modern technology became part of the opening of the ensemble's 93rd concert season.
"One of the main elements of the program was a robot conductor, under whose direction works were performed by the orchestra. The creative experiment combined the traditional sound of the national orchestra and modern technology," the statement said.
The concert in Almaty was dedicated to City Day. The program included works of Kazakh instrumental music, world classics, and songs about Almaty.
The orchestra performed Kurmangazy's kuis "Turmenden Qashqan," "Serper," "Adai," and "Saryarqa," as well as N. Ashirov's "Fantasy," dedicated to Akhmet Zhubanov. The classical part consisted of works by Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt, and Johann Strauss.
A separate block was dedicated to Almaty. Songs "Almatym Menin" by Alexander Zatsepin and "Almatynyn Almasy" by Eskendir Khasangaliev were performed.
