According to gaming insiders, Rockstar Games intends to release updated versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 4 for the PlayStation 5. If those plans pan out, players will once again be able to head out to the Wild West and return to Liberty City, this time on modern consoles, infohub.kz reports.

The remastered Red Dead Redemption 2 is expected to arrive first. It is said to feature improved graphics and a higher frame rate on the PlayStation 5. Rockstar is then reportedly planning to follow it up with an update to GTA 4, which originally launched back in 2008.

Red Dead Redemption 2 came out in 2018. The game follows a gang of outlaws in the Wild West at the end of the 19th century. Players control Arthur Morgan, who, together with his companions, tries to survive in a world where the age of the bandit is slowly drawing to a close.

GTA 4 is set in the fictional Liberty City. Its protagonist, Niko Bellic, arrives there in search of the American dream but is quickly drawn into the criminal underworld. Both games have long been Rockstar classics, so updated versions could appeal both to longtime fans and to those who have yet to discover them.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that an unofficial version of GTA 5 had appeared online that could be launched right in a browser tab without installation. Users have already been tearing around Los Santos and making their way to story missions.
