On October 18, Almaty will host an evening dedicated to breast cancer prevention and women's health. Women in the city can attend free lectures by doctors and watch a fashion show, infohub.kz reports.
The event is organized by ProHealth.kz together with the Kazakhstan Association of Oncologists. The project is timed to coincide with International Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The main goal of the initiative is to remind women about the need for regular check-ups and the importance of early detection.
The evening will open with participants' personal stories of their experiences and what helped them move forward. After the speeches, stylists and makeup artists will help the women create new looks, in which they will later walk the runway.
While the participants prepare for the fashion show, oncologists will share breast cancer prevention tips.
The event will conclude with a fashion show. After the runway, the heroines and fashion industry representatives will share their impressions and discuss what self-acceptance, confidence, and attention to one's health mean to them.
Pink October will take place on October 18, Sunday, at 5:00 PM at MEGA Alma-Ata shopping center, located at 247A Rozybakiev Street, old building, first floor, on the site of the former ice rink.
