Ukraine would not have been able to remain a sovereign state without the support of the United States, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on October 21 during a visit to India, according to the website infohub.kz.
"If it weren't for the help of the United States, including under the Trump administration, there would be no Ukraine now," Bloomberg quoted him as saying, in a translation cited by Izvestia.
Rubio also responded to a Wall Street Journal report that SpaceX chief Elon Musk had ordered restrictions on the speed of the Starlink satellite system used by Ukraine's armed forces. The secretary of state said he was not aware of any warning to the president and stressed that the US cannot in any case control what a private company does with its product.
It was reported earlier that Rubio said Trump is angry and irritated over Ukraine's position on resolving the conflict.
Recall that the head of the White House previously lashed out at Volodymyr Zelensky, saying Ukraine should find a new leader capable of making deals.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky himself said in an interview with Bloomberg that Trump's policies are pushing Kyiv toward capitulation.
And recently, media reports emerged that the US president and his team would try to impose a peace deal on Ukraine on Russia's terms.
