British actor Rupert Grint, known for playing Ron Weasley in all eight Harry Potter films, will reprise the role on stage. He will join the cast of the Broadway production of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" at New York's Lyric Theatre, reports infohub.kz.

His limited engagement begins on February 2, 2027, and runs for 17 weeks, through May 30, 2027. The play's story unfolds 19 years after the main events, with the protagonist as an adult family man. The actor called it symbolic to return to a character he grew up with since age 11, noting that both he and his character are now fathers.

Grint will be the second original film cast member to appear in the show. Tom Felton previously joined the Broadway project as adult Draco Malfoy. Producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender called Grint's participation an important bridge between the original films and the theatrical story of generational continuity.
