Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said that Moscow does not consider the option of "freezing" the military conflict with Ukraine, reports infohub.kz.
In an interview with TASS, the diplomat emphasized that this position is fully shared by Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Galuzin, the Russian side sees no possibility of suspending hostilities under current conditions.
During the conversation, the deputy minister also touched upon attacks on the facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). He noted that in July-August, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using unmanned aerial vehicles, carried out demonstrative terrorist attacks on the infrastructure ensuring the functioning of the CPC, which primarily serves the interests of Kazakhstan's economy. Galuzin expressed hope that the international community, including the United States and European countries whose oil and gas companies are shareholders of the consortium, will give an adequate assessment of these actions.
Recall that the last attack on CPC facilities occurred on July 30. The consortium's press service then reported a strike on a tanker in the waters of the marine terminal, qualifying it as a terrorist act. As a result, the vessel "Niffos Sifnos" under the flag of the Marshall Islands, which was loading oil at the offshore mooring device, was damaged. The cargo shipper was Tengizchevroil LLP (Chevron company, Kazakhstan).
Later, information appeared that the United States had persuaded the Ukrainian side to abandon attacks on ships in the CPC area, which is critical for the export of Kazakh oil to world markets.
