Production of Russian two-link snow and swamp vehicles 'Vityaz' is planned in Aktobe, RBK reports.
A corresponding framework agreement was signed by representatives of Kazakhstan and Bashkortostan at the Forum of Interregional Cooperation between the two countries in Omsk. The project will be implemented in several stages: first, assembly from machine kits supplied from Bashkortostan, then transition to large-unit and small-unit assembly. The enterprise will be located in the small industrial zone of Aktobe, with major localization stages expected to be completed by 2030.
In the future, Kazakhstan may organize warranty and post-warranty maintenance of the snow and swamp vehicles, as well as their joint promotion in the markets of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. A joint coordination committee will be established to oversee the implementation of localization, production volume, and export plans.
In addition to the snow and swamp vehicle project, the forum also discussed cooperation in the production of medical equipment and automotive components. The authorities of Bashkortostan announced their intention to start supplying 'Vityaz' vehicles to Kazakhstan in early July. At that time, it was reported that the equipment produced in Ishimbay would enter the Kazakh market for the first time. Earlier, 'Kursiv Avto' reported which armored vehicles of Kazakh production guarded Vladimir Putin's visit to Astana.
