World No. 1 Elena Rybakina has answered a question about her recent trip to Kazakhstan, admitting she was unable to complete everything she had planned, infohub.kz reports.

The exchange with journalists took place at a press conference during the tournament in Beijing. The athlete was asked: "After the US Open, you talked about how much you wanted to go to Kazakhstan to celebrate your victory there. What stood out most during the celebrations with your country?"

According to the tennis player, she stopped in Slovakia on the way before heading to Kazakhstan.

"Well, since I was traveling a lot, I stopped in Bratislava. Then I went to Kazakhstan. I fulfilled some obligations. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to do what I wanted, such as spending time with children or visiting several clinics. I had a great time at home, resting and relaxing. Everything went well," she was quoted as saying by Championat.

Recall that Elena Rybakina became champion of the season's final major and claimed her third Grand Slam title. Following the US Open, she made her debut as world No. 1.

Afterward, Kazakhstan President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev met with Rybakina and congratulated her on her achievements, awarding her the Order of Barys, III degree, for outstanding sporting merits and her great contribution to the development and popularization of tennis in Kazakhstan.
