Kazakh tennis player Elena Rybakina has shared details about her recovery from the injury she sustained at the Cincinnati tournament. The athlete admitted that she has not yet been on court but hopes to be ready for the start of the US Open, reports infohub.kz.

Last week, the world number two was unable to finish her quarterfinal match at the WTA 1000 event in Cincinnati due to the injury, allowing Iga Swiatek to advance to the semifinals. Rybakina later admitted that it was "even painful to walk." Nevertheless, she arrived at the US Open and spoke to journalists about her recovery progress.

"At the last tournament I got injured. I'm doing everything possible to recover. So far, everything is going well. Unfortunately, I haven't been on court yet. We'll try to do that in the next few days. It seems like everything is fine. I hope I'll feel good by my first match. Overall, I had ten days. There are still a couple of days to prepare. It depends on when my match is. We don't want to rush. I want to make sure I'm 100% ready," Rybakina said.
