The group-stage draw for the 2026 Women's Tennis Association Finals was held in Indian Wells, the United States, infohub.kz reports.
The tournament features the season's eight top singles players and eight top doubles teams. Elena Rybakina, who tops the world rankings, won the WTA Finals last year.
In this year's edition, the Kazakh player was drawn into Group No. 1. Her preliminary-round opponents will be Americans Coco Gauff (WTA No. 4) and Jessica Pegula (No. 5), along with Czech Linda Noskova (No. 8).
The other quartet comprises Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (No. 2), Russian Mirra Andreeva (No. 3), Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (No. 6) and Czech Karolina Muchova (No. 7).
In the group stage, players in both groups will face each opponent once. The top two players from each quartet advance to the semifinals.
The WTA Finals will run from November 8 to 15. In doubles, Kazakh Anna Danilina initially qualified for the event, but her pair with Serbia's Aleksandra Krunic withdrew because of her partner's injury.
