Another Kazakh player, Yulia Putintseva, improved her position by three places and now sits at No. 64 with 1,000 ranking points.
Zhibek Kulambayeva achieved a major milestone, entering the WTA doubles top 100 for the first time in her professional career. She climbed seven places, from No. 102 to No. 95, with 913 points.
Kulambayeva also came through qualifying at the WTA 250 tournament in Chennai, India. In the final qualifying round, the Kazakh rallied to beat Japan's Mei Yamaguchi 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(4) to reach the main draw.
Another Kazakh player, Anna Danilina, held on to seventh place in the WTA doubles rankings with 5,930 points.
