Employees of the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP) have reported delays in receiving their salaries and vacation pay. The institute's management acknowledged the debt but assured that funds will be disbursed soon, according to Orda.kz.

Earlier, a social media post claimed that employees have not been paid and that many have gone on vacation without receiving their vacation pay. The authors of the statement said that promises to settle the debts by the end of July no longer inspire trust and described the situation as a blow to Kazakh science.

The institute commented on the situation, saying that funding is expected to arrive. Representatives noted that they plan to pay the arrears — 40% of May salaries and 85% of June salaries — between July 20 and 24. According to the institute, employees will receive their July salaries on schedule, no later than August 10, as required by Kazakh law.

The Institute of Nuclear Physics is one of Kazakhstan's key scientific centers. It operates the only research nuclear reactor in Almaty, which produces radioisotopes for diagnosing and treating cancer, conducts scientific research, and trains specialists for Kazakhstan's future nuclear industry.
