A passenger in a BMW set off pyrotechnics from the sunroof while the car was moving along the Almaty–Astana highway. Police identified all those involved in the trip, reports infohub.kz.
According to the information media portal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police officers identified the participants in a video showing gross violations of traffic rules in the Karasay district of Almaty region. The footage showed several cars driving along the Almaty–Astana highway.
"It was established that on October 3 at around 00:30 they left a restaurant in the village of Zhibek Zholy and proceeded along the Almaty–Astana highway. Yerkebulan Zholdasbay, Bekarys Makhsetov, Yerzhan Zhumaliev and Ardak Turganbay were held administratively liable. A total of 13 administrative protocols were drawn up against the drivers for gross violations of traffic rules and hooliganism. In addition, the identity of Meirbek Bazarymbetov was established; while in the sunroof of the BMW, he was launching pyrotechnic devices. An administrative protocol was drawn up against him," the statement said.
Thus, a total of 14 administrative protocols were drawn up against those involved in the incident.
Following a review of the materials, the court imposed a penalty of 10 days' arrest on the violators.
"Police remind: demonstrative and dangerous behavior on the roads poses a threat to the life and health of all road users. Such violations are under special police control," the department added.
