Aircraft incident occurred at Turkestan airport: due to a technical malfunction, the plane was unable to take off, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Telegram channel Kozachkov offside, a National Guard plane was scheduled to fly from Turkestan to Astana the day before. On board were 6 crew members and 59 servicemen.
"The technical malfunction was the failure of one of the engines, possibly occurring during takeoff. As a result, the automatic braking system engaged, causing the aircraft's landing gear to catch fire. The fire was quickly extinguished by the airport's fire service — 13 personnel and 3 units of equipment were involved. No one called the Emergency Situations Ministry," the post says.
It is also noted that because the aircraft remained on the runway, several flights were delayed, and the plane had to be removed using equipment.
A NUR.KZ correspondent requested comment from the Transport Police Department. The agency confirmed that the incident occurred on September 11.
"At Turkestan airport, a technical malfunction occurred on the runway of one of the aircraft. Necessary work is currently underway to fix it," the agency said.
No one was injured.
