Nurlan Artykbaev, the owner of Kazakhmys LLP and Qazaq Stroy Properties, sold an 8.9% stake in the national telecom operator Kazakhtelecom to the Samruk-Kazyna fund, according to the website infohub.kz.
The data is confirmed by the updated shareholder structure. In early April 2026, through the company TelecomSystems Ltd., the businessman held 954,361 shares, representing 8.91% of all outstanding common shares. However, in the statement as of July 1, that company no longer appears, and Samruk-Kazyna's stake increased from 80.85% to 91.27%. Artykbaev held the stake for just over a year and earned about 30 billion tenge from special dividends and roughly another 5 billion tenge from share price appreciation.
