Samsung has announced a major update for its wireless earbuds Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. By the end of 2026, they will gain hearing test features and can function as hearing aids for people with mild to moderate hearing loss, according to infohub.kz.
After the update, two new apps will be added to the earbuds. The first, "Hearing Test," will offer a sound test for each ear separately to identify potential hearing issues.
The second app, "Hearing Aid," will automatically adjust sound amplification based on the test results, making it easier for users to hear conversations, music, or ambient sounds without a dedicated medical device.
Samsung notes that both features will be available for free with no subscription required. Users can also combine them with other Galaxy Buds capabilities, including active noise cancellation and directional sound focus.
The company also stated that the apps have received FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) certification. According to Samsung, the hearing test feature provides clinically accurate results, and the Galaxy Buds are recommended as an over-the-counter solution for people with hearing impairment.
