The Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control has checked the readiness of schools for the new academic year. Inspections covered 99% of the country's educational institutions. As a result, specialists identified numerous problems in the condition of canteens, medical offices, engineering networks, and the water supply system, reports the website infohub.kz.
As the head of the CSEC, Sarkhat Beisenova, told the SCC, in June of this year, sanitary doctors conducted a large-scale inspection in domestic schools and identified various violations of sanitary and epidemiological requirements. Most of them – 2,087 – were found in school canteens.
In particular, unsatisfactory sanitary and technical condition was detected in canteens. Poor equipment of school canteens with technological and refrigeration equipment was also reported.
The most violations of this kind were found in the Turkestan region (259), Karaganda region (163), Almaty (123), and Kyzylorda region (115).
In addition, according to Beisenova, there are also violations that require significant financial investments. These include repairs of engineering networks, roofs, ventilation and heating systems, and even water supply in schools. She also reported poor equipment of medical offices in some educational institutions.
In this regard, the CSEC administrators of budget programs submitted private representations to 287 schools and 11 boarding schools regarding the need to allocate funds to eliminate these violations.
It should be recalled that since February 1 of this year, a special procedure for state control has been in effect for children's state institutions in Kazakhstan. Thus, upon receiving a signal about violations, such facilities are no longer notified before the inspection but are visited unexpectedly.
