Sapar Satayev has been appointed as the new akim of Temirtau. He previously served as the head of Balkhash, according to the akimat of the Karaganda region (infohub.kz).
According to the official website of the Karaganda region akimat, Sapar Satayev was appointed akim of Temirtau in coordination with the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the city's maslikhat deputies.
The new leader was introduced to the city's active community by Karaganda region akim Yermaganbet Bulekpaev, who outlined the priority tasks facing the city's head.
"Sapar Satayev has significant experience in the public administration system, is well acquainted with socio-economic development issues, and has the necessary skills. Moreover, his experience in Balkhash allowed him to build effective collaboration with major industrial enterprises. I am confident that this experience will be successfully applied in Temirtau to further develop cooperation with the city-forming metallurgical plant. Under his leadership, large-scale projects were implemented to modernize heat and water supply systems and repair roads, which significantly improved the reliability of communal infrastructure and the quality of services provided. Sapar Kairkenovich, your main task is to improve the quality of life for Temirtau residents, create a comfortable and safe urban environment, and ensure sustainable socio-economic development of the city," said the regional head.
Sapar Satayev began his career in 2002 at the state enterprise "Kazakhautodor." Over the years, he worked as deputy director and acting director of the communal state enterprise "Botakara su kozhalygy." He has been in civil service since 2010. He headed the village of Botakara in the Bukhar-Zhyrau district of the Karaganda region. From 2013 to 2015, he served as akim of the city of Abay, then worked as deputy akim of the Bukhar-Zhyrau district. Later, he was akim of Priozersk. From May 2023 until his new appointment, he headed the city of Balkhash.
In turn, Sapar Satayev noted that he knows well what Temirtau lives on today, which issues require special attention, and what decisions residents expect. "Temirtau has always been a city where honest work, responsibility, and concrete actions are valued. My work will be focused precisely on that," Satayev stressed.
It is worth recalling that several days ago, Galym Ashimov announced his resignation as akim of Temirtau. He had held the position since September 2024.
