Almaty Akim Darkhan Satubaldy conducted a working tour of the city's key heating supply facilities ahead of the heating season. During the inspection, he examined the Southern District Boiler House, the Orbita boiler house, and a section of heating network reconstruction in the Auezov district, according to infohub.kz.

The first stop was the Southern District Boiler House on Khodzhanov Street. It supplies heat to 1,553 facilities, including 356 apartment buildings and 16 educational institutions. As part of the reconstruction, three boilers were replaced, another was refurbished, and auxiliary equipment was upgraded. The project will increase the boiler house's capacity by 55 Gcal/h and improve the reliability of heat supply for around 200,000 consumers.

Darkhan Satubaldy then visited the Orbita district boiler house, which has been in operation since 1973. It serves 1,312 facilities, including 925 apartment buildings, 39 educational institutions, and 17 healthcare facilities. Repair work was carried out here in 2026.

"The main task is to ensure a stable heat supply for residents during peak loads. Facilities with a high level of wear must be modernized consistently, and all work must be carried out efficiently and on schedule," Darkhan Satubaldy said.

The final stop of the tour was a section of heating network reconstruction in the block bounded by Saina, Momyshuly, Ulugbek, and Abai streets. The heating main has been in operation since 1988 and has already exceeded its standard service life, with 10 incidents recorded here over the past three years. The facility is currently 80% complete, and around 120 meters of heating networks have been replaced this year. Once the reconstruction is finished, the reliability of heat supply will improve for 45 apartment buildings, 15 other facilities, and one kindergarten.

A meeting with residents was also held at the site. City residents raised issues and suggestions concerning urban infrastructure. Following the meeting, relevant instructions were given to the appropriate services.

Overall, in 2026 Almaty is carrying out the reconstruction and repair of 20.1 km of heating networks, with 15.8 km already completed.
