Schoolchildren in Kazakhstan now know the dates for the 2026-2027 academic year holidays: autumn, winter, and spring breaks, plus an additional break for first-graders, according to infohub.kz.

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Education has approved the start and end dates for the 2026-2027 school year. Classes begin on September 1, 2026, and conclude on May 25, 2027. The academic calendar includes three holiday periods: autumn break from October 26 to November 1, 2026 (7 days); winter break from December 28, 2026, to January 10, 2027 (14 days); and spring break from March 22 to 28, 2027 (7 days). First-graders will have an additional break from February 8 to 14, 2027.

The length of each quarter is as follows: first quarter — 8 school weeks, second quarter — 8 school weeks, third quarter — 10 school weeks, fourth quarter — 8 school weeks.

Final assessments for 9th (10th) grade students will take place from May 31 to June 11, 2027. State graduation exams for 11th (12th) graders will be held from June 1 to 17, 2027. The Ministry of Education has approved a schedule for the final exams by subject; detailed information is available on the ministry's official resources.

Earlier it was reported that Kyrgyzstan postponed the start of the 2026-2027 academic year — instead of September 1, students will begin on September 15.
