In Semey, a car caught fire due to a 6-year-old boy's mischief. Police established the circumstances, and now the child's parents will have to compensate the car owner, reports infohub.kz.
The incident occurred on July 15 in the courtyard of a residential building in block 352. A fire report was received by emergency services at 6:05 p.m. Responding officers from the Department of Emergency Situations quickly extinguished the blaze.
During the investigation, police reviewed surveillance camera footage. It was revealed that shortly before the fire, three young children were near the car. According to preliminary data, one of the boys used matches to set fire to dry vegetation next to the vehicle. As the flames spread, the children got scared and ran away.
These findings were confirmed during interviews with the minors' legal representatives. Authorities noted that the parents of the 6-year-old will have to compensate the damage caused to the car owner.
