A man was trapped beneath collapsed structures while construction and renovation work was underway at a private home in Semey. Emergency responders from the operational rescue team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived quickly at the scene and freed the victim from the rubble, infohub.kz reports.

"A report of the incident was received on the 112 hotline in the city of Semey the day before. According to preliminary information, ceiling slabs collapsed during renovation work at a private house. A man was trapped under the structures and was unable to get out on his own," Kazakhstan's 112 service said.

The arriving rescuers carried out the necessary work and pulled him from the collapsed structures. After being freed, the man was handed over to an ambulance crew.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations once again reminds the public of the need to strictly observe safety requirements during construction and renovation work. Violating the rules and failing to properly assess the condition of structures can lead to injuries and other dangerous consequences.

Rescuers urge people not to neglect precautions and to take the technical condition of buildings into account when carrying out any work involving demolition, repair or modification of structures.
