A 15-year-old boy who went missing in Semey three days ago has been found at his grandmother's home in Pavlodar — alive and unharmed, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to the press service of the Abai Region Police Department, the search for the minor in the region has been completed. He was found at around 15:00 today at his grandmother's home in Pavlodar.
After the missing-person report was filed, officers from the criminal police of the Abai Region Police Department immediately launched a search. Police checked possible locations where the minor might be and established his contacts and the home addresses of close relatives.
According to preliminary information, the teenager traveled to Pavlodar on his own by taxi without telling his mother. He will be returned to his family shortly. The circumstances of the incident and the reasons for his leaving home will be established.
"Since the teenager had run away from home before, the matter will again be referred to the commission on minors' affairs and the protection of their rights. Specialists will assess his living conditions and family relationships and determine what assistance the child and his parents need. If grounds exist, the issue of holding his legal guardians accountable will be considered," the Abai Region Police Department said.
The situation is under the department's supervision. The main task is to ensure the teenager's safety, provide the necessary support and prevent further runaways.
