Prosecutors in Semey have uncovered violations of personal data legislation at 31 educational institutions. Official school websites publicly posted documents containing personal information of employees and students, according to infohub.kz.
The supervisory authority reported that the published data included full names, individual identification numbers, dates of birth, residential addresses, and contact phone numbers of 3,752 employees, as well as information on 344 minors.
"The posting of such information created risks of violation of privacy and its unlawful use," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
According to the statement, following a supervisory act, the illegally posted information was removed from public access, and those responsible were held liable under the law.
"The prosecutor's office reminds of the need for strict compliance with personal data and protection legislation, especially when posting information on the Internet," the supervisory authority emphasized.
Earlier, it was reported that in the East Kazakhstan region, prosecutors prevented the leak of personal data of more than 600 teachers.
