The mother of a 13-year-old boy suspected of inflicting 15 stab wounds on a classmate in Semey has stated that her son acted in self-defense. At the same time, the woman acknowledged the guilt of both parties to the conflict, according to infohub.kz.
According to Nazigul Zhumabekova, the other participant in the conflict was the first to use a knife. Frightened, her son may not have realized what he was doing and began to strike back.
"He started it first – he stabbed him. And out of fear, maybe he didn't even understand what he was doing. And as self-defense, he started jabbing him with the knife. So, Omar started it first – he cut him with the knife. And then all this happened. But I think both are to blame: both Omar and Daulet. I don't consider my son innocent. I also consider him guilty," the schoolboy's mother, Nazigul Zhumabekova, said.
Earlier, Kursiv reported on this story. The incident occurred after classes. Two 13-year-olds were playing together, but at some point a fight broke out between them. Shortly before the conflict, the schoolchildren allegedly found a knife. What exactly happened next is being determined by the investigation.
After the incident, both teenagers were taken to the hospital. Zhumabekova's son had his wounds treated and stitched up, after which he was released home.
The second schoolboy received about 15 stab wounds and underwent surgery. He remains in the hospital, and his condition is assessed as moderate.
The parents of both teenagers are asking police to thoroughly investigate what happened and establish the sequence of actions of the parties to the conflict.
