A murder has occurred in the settlement of Vodny on the outskirts of Semey: a 19-year-old girl died from stab wounds right outside a building. The suspect has been detained, reports infohub.kz.
Neighbors told the KTK television channel about what happened. According to them, they first heard screams and then found the girl lying in blood. It is believed that a conflict broke out between two young people.
"I was in the yard. I heard screams, noise, a fight. The girl was screaming. Then, when I came out, I saw the girl lying there, all covered in blood, so pale. They were giving her heart massage. Some guys were standing there. Crying," eyewitness Irina Lysak said.
Local residents say the young man grabbed a knife during the argument. According to some reports, he was the ex-boyfriend of the victim. After the incident, the suspect tried to flee, even climbing over a fence, neighbors claim.
"Then one guy ran up and asked me for help. I go out — a girl is lying there, all stabbed with a knife. Then the ambulance arrived, the police arrived, and we were sent back home," local resident Azamat Kuzhykenov said.
The medics who arrived at the scene were unable to save the victim. The number of stab wounds she sustained has not been specified. It turned out that the murdered girl was a third-year student at a local college. Teachers note that she was well-mannered and a good student. Moreover, her photograph is displayed on the honor board. On the morning of the day the tragedy occurred, she had attended classes.
The police are commenting on the incident with extreme restraint. They report that the suspect has been detained.
"On September 21, a criminal case was opened by the police into the murder. The suspect has been identified and detained in hot pursuit. He turned out to be a 24-year-old resident of the district," specified Yerzhan Akkaliev, deputy head of the Semey Police Department.
It is noted that the suspect is currently in a detention center. Police reported that the victim and the suspect knew each other.
