A dispute over a parking space in Semey has ended in a hefty fine for a local woman: she must pay a penalty for painting a message on the asphalt, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to NUR.KZ, citing the Police Department of the Abai Region, the incident occurred in the Karagaily microdistrict. Near one of the apartment buildings, an unknown person painted the words "Do not take the parking space" on the asphalt. The paint also got onto a car parked nearby, and its owner contacted the police.

Using surveillance camera footage, police determined that the message had been painted on September 25 at around 02:26. It turned out that a 40-year-old resident of Semey was responsible.

The woman was held administratively liable for defacing public spaces and fined 50 MRP, which amounts to 216,250 tenge. The city resident cleaned up the consequences of her actions herself.

The Police Department of the Abai Region reminded that disagreements over parking spaces must be resolved through legal means. It emphasized that such disputes do not justify violations of public order or damage to other people's property.
