In September, temperatures across most of Kazakhstan are expected to be within the climatic norm, but the west of the country will be warmer, and northern regions will receive more precipitation. This advisory forecast for autumn 2026 was published by Kazhydromet, reports infohub.kz.
The average temperature in September will be about one degree above the norm in most of the West Kazakhstan Region, as well as in the west of Atyrau and Mangystau regions. In other regions, meteorologists do not expect significant deviations from the usual September values.
As for precipitation, in most of the country the amount is expected to be near the norm, but in some regions September is forecast to be wetter. More precipitation than usual is expected in the North Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions, in most of the West Kazakhstan and Akmola regions. The list also includes the northwest of Atyrau Region, the northeast of Kostanay Region, the far north of Karaganda Region, as well as the northern parts of the East Kazakhstan Region and the Abai Region.
In most of the Kyzylorda and Turkistan regions, on the contrary, precipitation is expected to be below the norm. Kazhydromet gives a similar forecast for the southeastern part of Mangystau Region, the south of Aktobe Region, and the southwest of Zhambyl Region.
In October, the temperature background will change more noticeably. In most of Kazakhstan, the average monthly temperature is expected to be 1–2 degrees above the norm. It will remain near the norm in most of Almaty, Zhetysu, and East Kazakhstan regions, the southeast of Turkistan and Zhambyl regions, and in the southeastern part of the Abai Region. Precipitation across the country is forecast to be near the norm.
In November, temperatures are also expected to be 1–2 degrees above usual values in most of Kazakhstan. The exceptions will be the Almaty, Abai, Zhetysu, and East Kazakhstan regions, as well as the eastern parts of Zhambyl, Karaganda, and Pavlodar regions. Precipitation in the last month of autumn will mostly be near the norm. More than usual may fall in the North Kazakhstan Region and the northern parts of Kostanay, Akmola, and Pavlodar regions.
