Serena and Venus Williams have received a wild card into the doubles draw of the tournament, which begins next week. This will be their first doubles match together since the 2022 U.S. Open, and their first teaming up in the hard-court tune-up event in Mason.
The sisters had previously been granted a wild card for doubles at Wimbledon, but Serena's injury prevented them from competing. They have won 14 major doubles titles and three Olympic gold medals.
Venus Williams, 46, is set to play mixed doubles at the U.S. Open later this month in New York alongside Alexander Bublik. Her appearance in Cincinnati with her younger sister is the latest step in Serena's comeback at age 44, following her loss at Wimbledon in her first singles match in nearly four years.
