Filming is set to begin in August 2026. It was announced by media company KINOMARK and the actor himself. They are inviting actors, bloggers, media personalities, and anyone interested to collaborate.
The series, titled 'Mazhorchik,' centers on a private school in Astana. The school is scheduled to open in fall 2026 and will offer international-standard education, with some subjects taught in English.
In comments, users humorously asked to be cast in the roles they have been playing for free for years: teachers and mothers.
Sergey Romanovich gained fame not so much for his film roles as for converting to Islam in 2012 and strictly adhering to its precepts. He first began refusing intimate scenes and kisses on set, then left acting altogether to start a business. Later, he stopped praying for a time but returned to prayer in spring 2026 and visited Medina during Ramadan. In interviews with various media, he detailed his inner struggles and doubts.
Earlier, in January 2026, Romanovich announced plans to shoot his own feature film in Kazakhstan. Apparently, the decision was later made to produce a series instead.
