Music critic and journalist Sergey Sosedov died in the Yakutian city of Neryungri at the age of 57. Details of what happened were disclosed by Tamerlan Karaev, director of the Darkhan hotel where the critic was staying, according to infohub.kz.
According to the hotel director, the cause of death was not a fall down the stairs. "He didn't fall down the stairs... He felt unwell, and there's this stairwell landing... just a regular flat platform. That's where he suddenly felt unwell," Karaev said.
He added that half an hour before losing consciousness, Sosedov was joking and feeling fine. "He arrived, he was joking around, everything was fine, everything seemed good. He went out, had a smoke, came back up, and this happened literally within half an hour — he was standing there, talking, had a smoke, and then it happened... He looked normal," the hotel director said.
Sergey Sosedov was born on January 23, 1968, in Moscow. He graduated from the journalism faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University. He worked at the newspaper Vechernyaya Moskva and also contributed to various publications as a music reviewer.
Sosedov gained wide fame through his participation in television music projects. He was a jury member on the Ukrainian show "X Factor," as well as the music programs "Superstar!" and "You Are a Superstar!" on Russian television. The critic also taught and offered commentary on Russian and foreign music.
