Severe Weather in Kazakhstan: Heavy Rain, Hail, and Wind up to 28 m/s Expected on September 8

Storm warnings have been issued in several regions of Kazakhstan for September 8. Forecasters predict heavy rain, hail, squalls, and strong winds, according to infohub.kz.

In the west of the country, the most varied weather is expected. In Aktobe and West Kazakhstan regions, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are forecast. In Atyrau region, rain and thunderstorms are possible at night, and in the north, west, and south, heavy rain, hail, and squalls are expected at times. Wind gusts will reach 15-20 m/s.

A difficult situation is also forecast in Mangystau region. At night, rain and thunderstorms are expected there, and in the northwest - heavy rain and hail. Wind gusts in the west and center of the region may reach 23-28 m/s. In Aktau, rain and thunderstorms are also expected at night. Wind speed will be 15-20 m/s, with gusts up to 23-25 m/s.

In the north of Kazakhstan, the main danger will be strong winds. In North Kazakhstan region, daytime gusts in the west and south will reach 25 m/s. Fog is expected in the south at night and in the morning. In Kostanay region, light rain and thunderstorms are possible in the west during the day. Southeast wind gusts in the region will be 15-20 m/s.

Gusty winds are also forecast in Akmola region. In the west, north, and south of the region, wind speeds will reach 15-20 m/s during the day, and in Kokshetau - 15-18 m/s. High fire danger remains in Astana.

In the south of the country, forecasters warn of fog and strong winds. In Turkestan region, gusts in some areas will reach 15-20 m/s. In Zhetysu region, light rain and thunderstorms are expected in mountainous areas during the day. In the Alakol Lakes area, northwest wind gusts will strengthen to 15-20 m/s.

In Karaganda region, southeast winds with gusts up to 18 m/s are forecast in the west and southeast during the day. In Pavlodar region, east wind gusts in the east will be 15-18 m/s.

In addition, high or extreme fire danger persists in several regions. The warning is in effect in Ulytau, Aktobe, Atyrau, Turkestan, Mangystau, Almaty, Karaganda, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl, and Akmola regions.
