A large fire broke out at a production plant in Shymkent, but rescuers managed to prevent the flames from spreading to neighboring residential buildings, reports website infohub.kz.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), the fire occurred in a one-story production plant on Shymkent Street. From the first minutes, MES personnel were on site: an operational firefighting headquarters was set up and coordination with the city's utility services was organized. Water supply was uninterrupted.

Due to dense urban development, there was a threat of the fire spreading to nearby residential buildings and outbuildings. Thanks to the quick and coordinated actions of firefighters, a residential building with an area of 400 square meters and an outbuilding directly adjacent to the burning plant were saved from ignition.

The fire was completely extinguished over an area of 570 square meters. There were no casualties. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. A total of 76 personnel and 20 units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
